Refreshing Peach Green Smoothie
Just because I love you guys, I’m sharing my absolute favorite green smoothie recipe! This refreshing peach green smoothie recipe is probably the simplest recipe I’ve ever shared on the blog, but hey, recipes don’t need to be fancy or complicated to be delicious.
All About My Famous Green Smoothie
This was actually the first green smoothie I ever made and I’ve probably been making it the same way for the last 5 years. It’s not an exciting story – I basically just threw together things that sounded good and blended them – riveting, I know.
Aside from using refreshing peaches, the other secret to this smoothie is the juice. Yep, I said juice. Normally, I advise clients to limit fruit juices because they typically offer very little fiber and are high in sugars, but this one is a bit different.
I came across this V8 Healthy Greens juice when I was strolling through the grocery store one day and it stood out to me because it was so low in sugar compared to other brands. For comparison, a typical orange juice contains 22g of sugar, while the V8 variety has only 11g of sugar. Pretty cool.
FYI – V8 did not pay me to say any of this. I just genuinely like this juice a lot!
How to Make Sure Your Green Smoothie Stays Green
If you’ve attempted to make a green smoothie before, you’ve probably had your fair share come out looking like… well, baby poop. (No better way to describe it.) Even though they’re delicious, red, purple, and blue ingredients tend to turn black or brownish when mixed with leafy greens. If you’ve mixed paint colors before, you understand this. Luckily, color theory can tell us about what colors will enhance the greenness of our green smoothie.
Here’s the secret – use orange, yellow, green, or white ingredients!
It’s really that simple.
Some great green smoothie mix-ins include:
- peaches
- pineapple
- mango
- banana
- pear
- yogurt
- citrus
- avocado
- citrus fruits
- apple
- kiwi
- melon
- celery
- matcha
- ginger
- herbs (mint, parsley, cilantro)
- leafy greens (duh.)
How to Blend Like a Pro
I usually make smoothies in single-servings, so the recipe below is for one. If you’d like to serve a crowd, just multiply the recipe as needed and use a full-sized blender. I personally use a Ninja blender and I love that it gives me the option to use a large or single-serving blender depending on how many people want to drink smoothies with me!
